Consider complexity of target words in relation to prosody, phonemic context. Choose less complex phonetic, phonotactic env
Considerations
Accentedness- listener's perceptions of how closely speaker's speech matches that of native speaker. Strong accentedness leads to low intelligibiltiy.
Adults may be intelligible in L1 but not in L2. Often learned English mainly thru written lang, exposure to spoken Eng often limited. Don't really use English to communicate w family, friends from same country, may have limited interactions w speakers of English (may be working w/o English).
Consider the client's motivation, personal abilities, resources, whether they are willing to take feedback on board
