LEADERSHIP SKILLS REFLECTION
Unit 3
Giving Feedback
What I learnt:
It is better to give positive feedback to a person because positive feedback encourage them more to improve themselves in the future.
Encouraging words, like praising them for their presentation or materials prepared, will help them to continue to do better the next time.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 3:
• As a leader, I will always reflect on myself first before giving feedback to my members because maybe I did something wrong to make them do it wrongly as well.
Unit 1
Confidence & Critics
What I learnt:
Receiving criticism gives us space for betterment, therefore we must be open and willing to accept criticism from everyone.
Confidence is key to create a connection of trust between the speaker and the audience. Stand your ground even if people disagree with your points.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 1:
• My confidence while speaking in front of the class. I felt comfortable for the first time because this class makes me feel welcomed and not judged.
Unit 8
Final Project
What I learnt:
It is better to prepare ourselves for the future so in the near future, we are able to handle the situation professionally and have everything planned out.
A good leader is well organized, therefore in video resume, we must have our points immediately and look confident at all times.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 8:
• I, now, know what to include in video resume if I were required to do one while applying for jobs in the future because as a major project, we have to apply every skills that we have learnt throughout this class to convey it in the final project.
Unit 5
Change & Time Management
What I learnt:
As said before, leaders have an effect of words towards their members and with the right words, leaders will be able to lead the team effectively.
A good leader is well organized and must thought everything out thoroughly.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 5:
• It does not take much for us to give motivation to our friends, therefore when my friends feel like giving up because they are tired, I will always encourage them to take a break and get back to it later because that tiredness only lasts at that very moment.
Unit 4
Coaching Team
What I learnt:
• It takes the right words and right actions to have an influence to a group of people.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 4:
• To be a group leader, we must also be a good listener as we must consider our group members as well. We must think for the group as a whole, not only for ourselves.
Unit 7
Mock Meeting
What I learnt:
Putting every suggestions or thoughts by our members is a considerate move as to move forward, we do it together.
Every opinion is valid but it depends on the situation as well.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 7:
• I listen to my group members' opinions and give my feedback regarding theirs so everyone can be on the same page.
Unit 6
Creative Leadership
What I learnt:
As a leader, we must come up with lots of ways to encourage our members to feel motivated at all time.
Creative ways of a leader helps his/her team to be more comfortable with them because leaders do not have to be serious at all times.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 6:
• I know how to get around my group members now and being friendly and kind with every single one of them helps the team to reach better connection and to success.
Unit 2
Listening and Experiences
What I learnt:
A leader must convey the right information to his/her members because with wrong information, the product may not turn out to be right.
Leaders have their own experiences, whether it is good or bad, it does not count because from those experiences, they are able to grow into someone better.
An aspect I have improved from Unit 2:
• I am opening myself up to my friends more and I am training myself to be a better listener to my friends to help them and for my betterment as well.
