Assistive Technology
Assistive technology is any device or service that helps a student with a disability to meet his or her IEP goals and participate in a general education classroom.

Assistive technology services is any service that directly assists a child with a disability in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device.
Services include:

Buying, leasing, or acquiring the device
Selecting, fitting, adapting, repairing, or replacing the device as needed
Coordinating the services for a student who uses a device (e.g., therapies, education)
Providing training or technical assistance to the student, family, teachers, or others involved in the use of the device
Without the use of assistive technology, many students with disabilities struggle academically.
In many general education classrooms, students regularly use technology in various ways, this is called instructional technology.
As a sub group of the IEP team, the Implementation team will help with assistive technology.
