Biological rhythms
Ultradian rhythms
EEG studies has found that the cycles last for around 90 minutes.
Future apps could monitor signals from your body and analysis from the sleep wake cycle could wake people up at their lightest stage of sleep.
-
-
Circadian rhythms
We know sleep wake cycle exists without having to conduct psychological research .
Knowledge can improve our health as inconsistent routines prevents your body from releasing enough hormones.
Support of the rhythm without needing external cues. (Siffre's cave where he deprived himself of light)
Use of case studies. Siffre only experimented on himself so is therefore not representative of a wider population
-
Infradian rhythms
We know the rhythm exists without having to conduct psychological research.
Family planning using apps so women low when they are most fertile from their body temperature and hormonal changes
Research has shown that external factors has effected the menstrual cycle such as light (Reinberg 's woman in a cave)

The structure and function of sensory, relay and motor neurons
Neurons consist of dendrites, the cell body and axons.
Axons are covered in myelin sheath to speed up electrical impulses.
The sensory neuron has long dendrites and short axons as it carries information from sensory receptors to the spinal cord.
Relay neurons are found in the CNS and have short dendrites and and long axons to connect the sensory neurons to the motor neurons.
Motor neurons are found in the PNS and have short dendrites and long axons to carry nerve impulses to muscles which trigger muscle contraction.
