        not sexual, just betrayl. Hamlet's puritan streak causes him to be disgusted with the idea of his mother's "unseemd bed" and "stewed in corruption". This causes him to not only lash out at gertrude in "assume a firtue if you have it not", but also ophelia, just because she is a woman who betrayed him too.

        There is no room for love, but rather than murder, this is because of the context of women in elizibethan england. Ophelia is "nothing" - vagina pun. she is not valued so she can't be loved truely, Hamlet, and men in general's favour is all she has but it is "Trifling"

        initially seems to be true, but he ignores both gertrude and ophelia in death
        
        This is because Hamlet's relationships with women in the play are ultimately secondary, as both ophelia ad Gertrude are used as plot devices and foils to propel hamlet's story forward and deepen his characterisation.
        
        Ophelia: illustrates his madness in contrast to her sanity, increases his suffering in "I loved ophelia"
        Gertrude: gives him a secondary motive, illustrates his volitile mental state in the closet scene
        
        This reflects the little value that society places on women in Elizabethan times. They were only seen as valuable in what they can do for the men they relied on.
