REALISM
REALISM: Realism was a reaction against Romanticism. Realism emphisis on the strange toward a faithful renderingof the ordinary, a slice of life as it is really lived.
Realism provided an outlet for a writers democratic sympathies. Realist authors took tjeir characters lives seriously as they take the life of the powerful and rich.
REGIONALISM
In regional literature, Americans found more than a travel guide. The Regional fiction was to capture the special atmosphere, the "local color", of the area and people it portrayed. Local Color in a novel means that it has a such quality and background that ir could not have been written in any other place. Regional literature generally deals with the lives of ordinary people. Accuarate Description of characters activities and realistics use of DIALECT are important in capturing the local color of the region.
NATURALISM
Naturalism is an outgrowth of Realism that responded to theories in science, psychology, human behavior, and social thought current in the late nineteenth century. Naturalism is a style full of observations of the "truth" of human experiences.
Although Naturalism Literature described the world with sometimes brutal Realism.
