Introduction
as a part of occupational standards , English represents a real rquirement for both employment and career advancement in the field
Curriculum and syllabus for English in toursm field may differ from one university to another due to not having strict policy
Bachelor's degree: 1-6 semesters including 14 to 28 hours of English per semester
Master's degree: 2-4 semesters
Level of students: B2 according to CEFR
Aim of the language teacher is to set objectives that foster the practical use of a language
Development of competences
there are four skills in the references of this field
Generic competences: "soft skills": teamwork problem solving, and decision making skills, willingness to succeed, assertiveness, active listening skills, diplomacy persusion skills
Intercultural competence:attitude, behaviour, believes and values that exist within national and organisational cultures
Linguistic competence - a subject-specific one: phonology, grammar, vocabulary
Discource competence: people's ability to generate appropriate language in different contexts encompassing R,L,W,S skills.

Requirements of materials: authentic, encourage students' cooperation and critical thinking, meet students' needs, integrate language skills
