• The old woman smiled and said, “You’re beautiful and kind at heart. Even though I am poor and look shabby, you still treat me nicely.”
• Out of jealousy, Mali got angry and thought that the woman was not an angel so she refused to give any and used rude words to curse the angel in disguise.
Plot
Introduction: There was a woman who lived with her stepmother and Mali (Daughter’s Stepmother). Phikul is beautiful and she so kind in spite of her step mother forced Phikul to work hard every day.
Rising: After she pounding rice was finished, Phikul went to fetch water from a stream. on the way back an old woman suddenly appeared and Phikul gave her mother and told her to take more water to wash her face and body.
Climax: The old woman smile and said “You are beautiful and kind at heart” and The old woman then gave a wish to her and by this virtue.
Falling action: With the greed of his stepmother, he forced Phikul to speak all day so that the flowers would come out of the mouth and sell them to the market until Phikul was sore throat and unable to speak.
Ending: At the end, the whole area was full of golden flowers. The prince was very pleased and asked to marry her. After marrying her, the couple ascended the throne and ruled the city happily ever after.
