INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTIONS
when small or large intestine is blocked (partial or total) which prevents the passage of fluids and digested foods. Food, fluids, gastric acids and gas builds up behind the blockage site
Causes

ECTOPIC PREGNANCY
Embryo attaches to the outside the uterus, usually in one of the fallopian tubes. Caused by a blockage in the tube or because the hairs in the tube cannot sweep to egg to the uterus. Fetus cannot survive.

CHOLECYSTISIS
Inflammation of the Gallbladder (beneath liver). Usually develops when pt has gall stones. which cause a blockage in the cystic duct. These stones trap bacteria which leads to infection + inflammation.
Types
Acute: sudden inflammation of the gall bladder that causes marked abdominal pain - usually requires hospitalisation, need antibiotics into a vein to treat infection
Chronic: Lower intensity inflammation of the gall bladder that lasts a long time, and maybe caused by repeat attacks of the acute. Requires removal of the gallbladder surgically.
Signs & Symptoms
severe, steady pain in upper right abdomen that may radiate to the right shoulder or back

APPENDICITIS
inflammation of the appendix, a finger-shaped pouch that projects from your colon on the lower right side of your abdomen. causes pain in your lower right abdomen.

pain in lower right abdomen, or navel area
