This quote highlights how the solider wants to be remembered as a solider who died for his country. Even if that place in which he dies in is foreign,which was a common occurrence during the war, as most bodies didn't return from the war to their 'mother' country.

grabs the attention on how serious the situation is of WWI, and how the words inject focus, harmony and rhythm towards the reader. It also underlines how important the soldier death signifies the honour of his country England, and the place of the solider death should be seen as a piece of England.

- ''The Soldier'' identifies a sense of beauty and love for his country, by conveying his country 'England' as his mother. The beauty that the soldier speaks of creates a sense of hope and support given by his 'mother' for his involvement in the war. The love for his country 'mother' is portraying to be strong as the soldier is able to accept death as his future, yet accept it with great pleasure as it is to give back to his 'mother'.

"England bore, shape, made aware, Gave, once, her flowers to love, her way to roam, A body of England's breathing English air". This quote has predicted how England is signified as a mother a carer of those British soldiers fighting for war.

England is being compared to a person throughout the poem, this is shown through the use of
personification.
The personification of England seems to have gave life, shaped, taught and loved the solider, representing England to take a position of a Mother. This is because the solider is appreciative towards his country.

"In heart at peace, under on English heaven". This quote portrays that death is seen to be something beautiful. The beauty that is shown towards this quote is by identifying how heaven is like for an Englishmen solider, which is seen to be as something beautiful and graceful. Even though death is meant to be seen as something dark, there is a different type of prospective from a British solider, which highlights the beauty of how someone can take something so ugly to make it bloom into something beautiful.

has bought a deeper understanding of the meaning of death, which is seen to be the beginning of a new life. The theme beauty manifest itself towards the soldiers beliefs, which was them believing that something horrible and dreadful can be seen as something bright and new.
