:red_flag:FRESH CONCRETE
Mixture of cement, water, aggregate and admixture (if any)
The consistency of the mix be such that the concrete can be transported, placed and finished sufficiently early enough to attain the expected strength and durability
For fresh concrete to be acceptable, it should:

SEGREGATION AND BLEEDING
Segregation
- Separation of the constituent materials of concrete
- Good concrete is one in which all the ingredient are properly distributed to make a homogeneous mixture
- A well made concrete, taking into consideration various parameter such as grading, size, shape and surface texture of aggregate with optimum quantity of waters makes a cohesive
Segregation type
Paste
- Separating away from coarse aggregate
Coarse aggregate
- Separating out or setting down from the rest of the matrix
Water
- separating out from the rest of the material being a material of lowest specific gravity
Bleeding
- Referred as water gain.
- Particular form of segregation, in which some of the water from the concrete comes out to the surface of the concrete.
