Does the student have any asymptomatic issues that may be affecting his school life.
Has the student ever been diagnosed with a learning disorder?
Does the student have any medical issues that may be causing physical discomfort in school.
Home Life
Is the student struggling with personal issues related to his home environment.
Divorce
Loss of Loved one
Physical or mental abuse.
Is the student from a low socioeconomic family
How much time do the parents spend with their child
What is the students attitude towards school work at home?
Does the student spend time studying?
Does the student want to go to school?
Cultural Background
Has the student recently immigrated to the country?
Are the parents with the student, or is he staying with guardians?
What language(s) are spoken at home?
Is the student enrolled in English classes.
Relative Family Information
Are there any family members with histories of learning disorders.

Audio / Visual
Use art and music (video making)
Use mind maps, inforgraphs and charts
Kinesthetic
Act out novels or other written material
Create hands on projects
Logical thinker
Problem solving activities
Use quests to find inflormation
Interpersonal /Intrapersonal
Group work and collaborative activities
Allow students to chose to read in groups or independently
Naturalistic
Incorporate out door exploration
Use environmental issues for topics of debate and study
Make use of group and collaborative activities where students can bring their own styles and interests to a common goal
Allow students to work at their own pace whenever possible.
Allow students to chose to answer anonymously
Allow for material to be presented in different media
Use Exit cards so that students can express what they have learned at the end of class.
If a student needs to redo an assignment try and present the material in a different way.

Create areas of the classroom that offer quiet spaces to read or work.
Arrange desks in a way that is suitable for the struggling student
Make sure lighting or noises are not distracting the student
Make use of visual media and decoration around the classroom
Post visual reminders of assignments and concepts
Make sure the student feels safe a secure in the clasroom
Parental Involvement :star:
Provide feedback to the parents as often as possible .through progress reports
Offer advice for creating a study environment at home
Offer information for extra-curricular opportunities that can help the student in the area she is struggling
Keep in communication with the parents through meetings, emailing or journaling.
Invite the parents into the classroom to give advice on seating and how to make the classroom environment conducive to the students needs

Student is Still Struggling and Needs Additional Assessment
Identify the area of continued struggle
Confirm observations with parents that the student is still struggling
Make a referral for assessment with school or other medical personal
