Glaciation
Corries
-
First snow collects on a small hollow and as more snow lands it is compressed into ice. then after freeze thaw weathering rocks are broken apart and freeze to the bottom of the glacier
As the glacier slides down the hill due to its weight it abrades the hill becoming a steep cliff. material deposits itself and forms a corrie lip and the end of the hollow.

Erosion
Freeze thaw weathering is the breakdown of rocks by the action of rainwater freezing and expanding inside of rocks
Glacial erosion
Plucking is where a glacier moves over an area of rock. due to friction, the glacier melts and water seeps into cracks around the rocks below. the water refreezes the the rock becomes part of the glacier
Abrasion is where rocks at the bottom of the glacier act like sandpaper - grinding over the bedrock. this can polish the rocks or create sharp grooves called striations
