This is a popular type of game as all battle royal type games fit into this category, as well as games like minecraft, which is based of survival, and crash bandicoot, a platforming game that involves timing and skill to get through to the next level.

Story based games are the games which have a strong storyline. Within these games, the levels or areas all serve a purpose, progressing the story with convenient plot points and cut scenes. Many story based game are also strategy based but can be more focused on the storyline then on the actual gameplay.

Puzzle games are usually based on moblie devices if they are strictly puzzles, although games such as portal, which has a great storyline, are also puzzle based as the main gameplay is based on solving problems, and room by room challenges. Puzzle games can be simple, with objectives that you must achieve to continue to the next stage.

Time-based games are games that are made to waste time. They are usually very addicting and don't have a storyline or very many problems to solve. They are the type of games that people can play without full focus. Simulation games fit into this category because they are usually very simple and have autonomy within the gameplay. Many facebook games and simple mobile games are time based games.
