introduction
Who are we?
contemporary music/always looking for new sounds and innovative possibilities for our artistic expression
young players and composers pertaining to high education artistic institutions
wanting to low the gap of contemporary classical music and general audiences/ sharing our love for experimentation and new sounds
come from different continents which same as the animals
Why the zoo?
It is not defined the kind of music you play in the zoo/ that makes us freer to explore new possibilities
Elitism in contemporary music / critics to the zoo as retrograde institution
It creates new audiences and new ways of interacting with musicians and cultural projects
lowering the gap between high and low culture: another way of street art
Because of the animals / we like extended techniques and unusual sounds/ We are curious about what the animals of the zoo sound like, creating a sound dialogue between them the players and their visitors
What does it means the zoo culturally: as a space that connects different places and realities.
why do we do it?
because we are experimental artists and we like to explore unknown possibilities
we want to reflect on our relation with nature (animal kingdom) and the zoo as a part of our history

what does sound/music mean for animals?
examples of possible performance pieces
at the Zoo
( -ex.-relaxing music inspired by the movement of the fishes to be played while the visitors stand in from of the aquiarium // - dance percussive music to be played inside of the monkeys cage in which they could also perform// and interactive system based on a camera tracking the movement of the lyons which is sonified in real time for the visitors through headphones)
revolution! All the animals are being set free
other venues
Instrumental pieces based on our process.
Multimediapieces where recordings and videos taken at the zoo would be displayed as part of the performance
proccess
what do we actually want to do?
1-visit the zoo, being able to understand a bit more about how the institution works and the animals and people who work and live there/ What could we actually do without disturbing the animals, neither the visitors? which animals/sections could we work with?
2-recording and filming the sounds that the different animals do in different situations
3-Bring our instruments to the zoo and play for the animals to see how each of them react to our sounds
4 Playing with the animals, gather material, and see which artistic potential could this collaboration have
5- We compose pieces/sound installations/ video works... to be performed in the zoo with the animals as well as other stages; inside and outside the institution/
