Chapter 5-Circe's first attempt at transforming Glaucus into a god fails, but when she tears the flowers she was using in rage, she releases the power found in their nectar. Glaucus becomes a god, and after being brought to the other gods Circe fawns over his new form. He is given a palace but eventually starts to adopt the arrogance and other negative aspects of the Gods, and eventually he leaves Circe to pursue Scyllia.In a rage, Circe uses her powers to transform the nymph into her true form, a horrible monster.
