    - - More and more people are living in cities which offers better job opportunities and better healthcare and better standard of living.
- - - - Pollution is the introduction of substances in to the natural environment that results in unpleasant or damaging effects to the environment and human health.This is mainly due to lack of garbage disposal systems in slums and squatter settlements that leads to residents using the rivers near the slum areas to do washings garbage and sewage disposal resulting in both water pollution and land pollution.
    - - Lack of safe drinking water as people in slum and squatter settlements are living illegally places without permission from authorities so no water supply is provided.
      - Lack of waste management facilities results in water and land pollution which breeds mosquitoes and lead to spread of Malaria and dengue fever.
      - Overcrowding results in a very rapid spread of diseases
    - - Fires,as the fire could spread very fast,when the houses are so closely packed together
      - Landslides as many build their houses along the steep and dangerous slopes
      - Ericition,as they build on land without permission from authorities.
