Hair Tongue
Etiology- unknown but has several risk factors associated with its development: antibiotics, therapeutic radiation therapy, smoking, oxygenating mouth rinses/peroxide, over growth of the oral flora
Method of transmission- not applicable
Characteristics- hair like projections can be whitish, or more commonly brown or black
Implications- none
Treatment- gentle debridement with toothbrush, antimicrobial mouthiness such as Chlorahexidine gluconate
Prognosis-good
