New York
New York is often called the Big Apple and has five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island.

New York has parts called Chinatown and Little Italy and these areas are famous for many restaurants offering Chinese or Italian food. In New York it is not difficult to find your way around. Streets are organized like east-west and avenues north-south. Fastest transport is subway or you can also take a bus or a taxi.
Some people say that New Yorkers are not very friendly. Sometimes they are tense like everyone in big cities where there are lot of traffic jams. Some people don't like New York because it's too dangerous. You shouldn't carry a lot of money and you should have some change to give away. You shouldn't be alone or travel in subway at night, but despite all that, New York is exciting because you can see everything there.
In New York you could find some theatres in Greenwich Village, a place where live so many famous people. Fifth Avenue is famous for very expensive shops or you can just go for a window shopping. You can also visit Macy's on Broadway and 34 Street, which is one of the biggest shops in the world.
In Manhattan you can see The Empire State Building(448 m tall). Another famous place is The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in New York Harbour. The statue has a torch in her right hand, that meant hope for many people who saw it when they were entering New York Harbour.
New Yorkers go to Central Park, a quite place in the centre of Manhattan. they go there to jog, skate, ride or just for a walk. Or you can have fun in Coney Island in souht Brooklyn. There you can visit the New York Aquarium or take a ride on Cyclone, the famous roller coaster. If you like art you would like to visit museums. The Metropolitan Museum is the biggest museum in New York and The Museum of Modern Art is famous.
