Daisy is married to Tom for his wealth and it seems to be the case that Tom is married to Daisy to uphold is upper class status.
Tom and Daisy's marriage doesn't seem to be a loyal one considering that Tom has other women, elsewhere.

Jay Gatsby
Daisy and Gatsby used to love each other but Gatsby had to leave for war and when he returned, Daisy had married Tom Buchanan.
Gatsby never gives up on his desire to have Daisy back. Daisy is Gatsby's only American Dream and he will go to any extent to try and get her back.
For example, Gatsby throws parties every weekend in the hope that Daisy may show up for one in the end. Millions of people walk through his doors and he has no connection to them whatsoever as he is consumed by the thoughts of Daisy.
