LOCAL WINDS AND BREEZES
Land breezes
is an air current that blows from the land toward the sea after sunset. The land cools more quickly than the ocean, cooling the air above it. The warmer air above the water continues to rise, and cooler air from over the land replaces it.

Sea breezes
is a wind blowing from the sea to the land usually during the day when the land surface is warmer than the water

Convection
-
warm air rises, cool air sinks
-
Convection currents cause the wind to move and make warmer air flow from the land to the ocean and cooler air flow from the ocean to the land.
