causes
Liberia's poverty is mainly due to the 14 year civil war which tore the country apart including its economy
Even after Liberia recovered from their war, they are still vulnerable
The main causes for Liberia's poverty is its corruption and the conflict that happens in their government
The corruption in Liberia's government is the major reason.
Low public sector salaries and lack of decent training is what created this absurd corruption
Another reason for Liberia's poverty is their trading. Liberia has a trade deficit, this means the cost of imports is much more than the money they are earning from their exports.
Liberia is rich in minerals such iron ore, timber, diamonds etc. However, the natural resource management continues to deal with the high corruption Liberia has and it affects on their trading
