Americas (Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Castro) Truman: He introduced the Truman Doctrine.The U.S. said they would give support to governments that were resisting communist takeover worldwide. It then turned into containment which meant that it was created to contain the spreed of communism and preserve democracy.
Eisenhower: During his presidency he managed Cold War-era tensions with the Soviet Union. He ended the war in Korea in 1953 and authorized a number of covert anti-communist operations by the CIA around the world.
Kennedy: Kennedy is well known for the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban missile crisis. The Cuban people were revolting and Nationalizing American property and in revenge he trained Cuban exiles to try and over throw Castro, Cuba's leader at the time. The Cuban missile crisis them emerged because Cuba strengthened their ties with the soviet union and the soviet union saw it as an opportunity to move their missiles to Cuba so they could reach the U.S.
Castro: He wanted to be independent and he lead the Cuban revolution from 1953-59. He made the U.S, Kennedy, angry which is why Kennedy acted accordingly. This then also brought negative affects on the U.S, such as the missile crisis which fortunately didn't erupt into a bigger conflict.
