Pathophysiology
Caffeine is a stimulant in food, beverages and other products used to keep people awake. Technically it is a drug as it is addictive. Regular caffeine intake is 400 mg/day for healthy adults, any more could result in overdose.
Caffeine doses can affect heartbeat and cause seizures. Long term effects can lead to hormonal imbalances or ulcers
