After Magwitch reveals himself as Pip's benefactor, Herbet returns.

Biddy being allowed to join them in helping with Mrs. Joe shows that she is trusted by Pip and Joe, and they think she can know about Mrs. Joe's condition.

He confides in Biddy that he wants assistance with learning and she agrees to help him.
