The French believed the Royals were abusing their power and demanded independence, which led to the Reign of terror and the use of the infamous guillotine. The French technically succeeded but not really since they ended up with an emperor

The Revolutions against the Spanish were violent, but successful. They wanted independence because the mother country seemed to be depleting the colonies for their resources
Brazil's revolution against Portugal was rather peaceful. The Brazilian people convinced the Portuguese prince to become their leader and it just happened without any discrepancies
