Draw clear boundaries between teacher and student. The presence of a clear subordination will help any teacher to maintain order in the classroom at the expense of his authority. The main thing to remember is to maintain a balance between strict authority and a friendly mentor.

Set yourself up for a host of problems. Instead of viewing yourself as your students’ monitor, see yourself as their friend.
