has lived in the Gallup area (New Mexico)
Originally they were located in seven villages along the north side of the Zuni River
The Zuni community
organized in 8 totemic clans
based on the cardinal points.
Each clan is assigned a color
The Zuni language and the Japanese
does not seem to be related to the neighbouring languages of Mexico and the United States
the hypothesis that the Zuni had been converted to Buddhism by Japanese monks
the zuñi language is in no way related to the japanese language.
