He sees the green light at the end of the Buchanan's dock, and we witness the significance of the green light to Gatsby and he is enchanted by it's magical beauty, and we have a better understanding of Gatsby's longing and unrequited love for Daisy and how he feels so close to her or the 'green light' he feels as if he almost has the light/her in his grasp
