Why people confessed
People confessed because if you confessed straight away, you wouldn't get tortured and they would probably keep you in a cell with food to eat, whilst if you did not confess you would be tortured and you would probably die

In Europe they had pots, pans, guns and ammunition and they traded that for slaves in Africa and then they went to the West Indies and traded some slaves for cotton and some tobacco
The Middle Passage was the route from Africa to the West Indies. during the time when the ships sailed, slaves were transported as cargo and they were living in horrible conditions for example, they were all crowded and it was hot and sticky and they were given some sort of porridge for their food and they were given 1/4 jug of water as their drink

Wurzburg Witch Trials
This Witch Trial was one of the biggest mass-execution/trials Europe had ever seen during the Thirty Years War. 157 women, men and children were burned; 219 were estimated to have been executed and 900 were killed in Prince Bishopric.
English Civil War
The Civil War was caused because of a fight with Charles 1 and the Parliament on who would get more power

The life on plantations for slaves was horrible. If they were found to be slacking off they would be beaten up or whipped several times with a whip. Also they barley had any sleep a s sometimes they had to work when the moon was shining

William Lloyd Garrison who had been born in a working class family was really frustrated by how the abolition was really slow. So he decided to start his own movement and try to abolish slavery

The connection with slaves was that there was a man named Colston and he brought slaves to this city. He made the slaves build what we think are beautiful buildings but are they? Being built by slaves, does that make the building beautiful?
