At the 2000 Sydney olympics Australian sprinter Cathy Freeman became an olympic gold medallist winner in the 400 meters. “She became not only a world-class track star and Olympic gold medal winner but also a symbol of hope and unity for all of her country”
Not only did she achieve well in her track but she had a big impact on rights and showed great dignity, it would not have been easy for her to get a place on the Australian olympic team
She carried the Australian and aboriginal flag during her victory lap I believe this in a way is being the "bigger person"
