BUNGEE JUMPING
a sport where people jump from tall buildings, bridges and cranes with a rope attached to their legs, chest and back
fall at great speeds down about 70 meters, and then the rope pull back up
DOWNHILL BIKING
a time trial mountain biking sport held on a course with a decrease in elevation
the races are held on steep, rocky off-road terrain, often involving jumps as high as 4-5 meters
not any kind of bike is used for these kinds of competitions, you need full-suspension bikes, with large tires, disc brakes and special geometrics for the frame
the safety gear used for this sport is very professional, involving full body armor and a full face helmet
some of these bikes and gear can be as expensive as 10.000 euros
SNOWBOARDING AND SKIING
one of the most widely practiced extreme sports in the world
both involve descending down a slope that is covered with snow while standing on a board or skis attached to a rider's feet
other forms or skiing and snowboarding are freestyle and freecarve riding, which involves skiers and snowboarders to go over specially made jumps and preformed tricks or ride with extremely high speeds down a slalom track
SURFING
an extreme sport in which individuals paddle into a wave on a surfboard, jump on it, and are propelled across the water by the force of the wave, which is most often carrying the surfer towards shore
these waves can be as high as 7-8 meters putting the surfer at danger of drowning in the rare occasion where the wave collapses over him
WINGSUIT FLYING
the sport of flying the human body through the air using special equipment, called a wingsuit
the wing suit has the surface area with fabric between the legs and under the arms
a wingsuit may be referred to as a birdman suit or squirrel suit
often done near canyons, increasing the danger of the sport

fun, exciting, interesting, a way to kill fear
CONS
dangerous, expensive, hard, high chance of injury, and even death
EXTREME SPORTS
a popular term for certain activities perceived as having a high level of danger and injury
these activities often involve height, speed, and a lot of protective gear for amazing stunts
