Reservoir coping stones
One sawn in half recently, therefore ideal for sampling
Some reservoir base tiles removed during 1981 excavations
May not be possible to find them, but Davenport might be able to ID them
Worked pillar found at Browne's Folly
Stephen semed keen to sample this
Sampling doesn't require HE consent unless in-situ
Working in stone store may be possible even with social distancing measures
Likely possible to non-invasively sample temple pediment stones with coordination
One stone actually mortared into wall display, while one (uncut however) is not on display
Cliveden reused Georgian Lewis bolt holes when lifting stones in stone store
Some stones had both Georgian and Roman bolt holes present
Roman lewis bolt holes larger? Contact Cliveden to clarify
Coordinate with Roman Baths staff to plan and timetable visits
Send list of daub/ceramic sites to Zosia to check if material can be located
Daub: LCA, OBS, WS, HaFY
Pottery: LCA, OBS, NRB
Susan unable to attend due to poor internet connection, but Vicky dropped in to let us know
Seemed receptive to coffin sampling, but most poorly dated or even located
Good feedback overall, with both Stephen and Zosia happy with progress of project, sampling ideas and scope and realism of sampling.
