History

In 1958 a man named William Higginbotham had created a revolutionary game that he liked to call, tennis for two. This early game was played on an oscilloscope which was a tiny computer in the 50s, this, which was the first had simulated a game of tennis (not pong),

Now we move on to the 60's where video games are more known and arcades start to open and you would pay to play on one of the new space wars systems and such. But when the 70s came rolling in, it came in fast. Arcades started opening more and more and Atari had come up with something you might of heard of before, Pong.

As I had mentioned pong had came in the 70's, but Pong as I had mentioned was made by Atari, which was a game company that came out in 1972 with pong, which went viral all over the world. The new company was not at all in debt after making so much revenue their first years, but after 3-4 years people started questioning, Why pong? so Atari came up with this, the first ever gaming console to touch the planet, released September 11, 1977 the Atari 2600.

The console stuck the whole planet hard and it was a craze around the world, so other companies wanted some of the money as well, Nintendo, a company you might of heard of founded in 1889 this electronics company wanted to get in one some of the craze they made their console the NES. which became probably ther most popular console on earth back then and still was sold with many variations till the 80's.
after Nintendo decides to make handheld games such as the Gameboy.

When the 90's rolled in, every one knew that Nintendo was the kingpin of all video games, and then a company named Sony decided they wanted to join to, so Sony proposed a deal with Nintendo that they should both work together to make the next revolutionary console, but because Nintendo was too greedy Sony put their A game on and started to work. After the release of the Nintendo 64 everyone was happy, but then out of nowhere like lighting from a clear sky, the PlayStation came, and within 2 years Nintendo was not the top dog any more

To finish this off when the new millennium came Microsoft had made Xbox, and then there was a fight between what was better, the Xbox or the PlayStation. as this went on computers evolved and were able to play games 10x faster than console. Now Consoles and Computers are very popular and are now a part of our culture.
