CHARACTERS
Titty:able-seaman, and also chief cartographer of the expedition because of her skills with a pencil.
Susan: ship's mate, in charge of looking after the camp and responsible for rations.
Roger:able-seaman, recently promoted from ship's boy.
John:ship's captain, he is the oldest of the Swallows and is in charge of the expedition, a responsabillity he takes very seriously.
Bridget:ship's baby, she is the youngest and newest member of the crew.
Nancy:ship's captain and the oldest Amazon. A fearsome pirate,she soon learns to swear like an Eel. Her real name is Ruth.

Sinbad the kitten:ship's kitten, he was rescuedby the Swallows , who found him in a chicken coop floating in the North Sea ( We Dind't Mean to Go to Sea).

Dum and Dee:Daisy's brother , short for Tweedledum and Tweedledee(not their real names!). They're not actually twins, altough the Swallows and Amazons find it hard to tell them apat.
The Mastodon: a native to the Secret Archipelago , his real name is Don , but his distintive hoof prints lead Titty to mistake him for a Mastodon( asort of hairy elephant).
