Should teachers assign homework?

Do you ever ask yourself the question, "Why do teachers give out so much homework when students are perfectly learn it in the classroom?"

Argument #1:Can put unhealthy amounts of stress on a student.
Stress leads to anxiety
Can't stay focused on the task at hand
Doesn't take the necessary breaks needed for a healthy work period.
Argument#2: Consumes all their free time
Students need time to catch up with their friends and family
Homework can take away time for extracurricular activity's and for older students, work
They need time to refresh and reset their mind for the next day.
Argument #3: Teaching should be in a classroom not a bedroom
Teachers will give out more homework then necessary because they took to long with their lesson
School is all about learning it should not just be learning in a classroom but learning from experience.
If a student doesn't understand a question they may ask for help. That is a good thing but if the parent does it different then the teacher there might be a confusion of what is being taught
