The PREDICATORS in sentences can be of
various parts of speech:

Predicators (vị tố) & Arguments (tham tố)
Juan took Pablo to Rio
predicator: take
arguments: Juan, Pablo, Rio
Predicate
is any word (sequence of words)
can function as
the predicator of a sentence.
Example: love, show, asleep, in are all
predicates
The degree of a predicate
is a number indicating
the number of arguments
is normally
understood to have in simple sentences
the majority of adjectives are
one – place predicates.
Most nouns are one – place predicates.
a few nouns could be said to be
‘inherently relational’
’ father, son, brother,
mother, daughter, neighbour.

Referring expression
we only let our imagination stretch to
cases where the things in the world are different
Universe of discourse (Ngữ cảnh phát ngôn)
the particular world, real or imaginary
that the speaker assumes he is talking
about at the time.
Examples
The Earth revolves around the Sun

Generic sentences (Câu tổng quát)
