Industrial revolution
Weaponary
The Industrial Revolution was the reason that modern Warfare was invented and used in World War 1 because the new inventions that were made during the Industrial Revolution helped make more guns and also was the invention of tanks that were used in World War one and helped with getting out of the Trenches

The Industrial Revolution helped open up more job opportunities for people because the new inventions needed more people to work those inventions. It also put lots of people out of work because with these new inventions there also is better machines that are easier to operate which meant that less people get working hours

Imperialism is when a country builds up their empire by talking over other countries for their resources and room for new military and industrial buildings
Nationalism
Nationalism is when one country loves their country which causes hatred towards other countries this means that there is already lots of tension between countries without other conflict
Alliance System
The alliance System is when two or more countries agree to not attack each other and they also agree to defend and fight with each other

The Spark for world war 1 was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand who was the arch duke of Austria- Hungary and was assassinated by a group of 7 people called the Black Hand Gang

Militarism is when two or more countries build up their armed forces, this helped cause war because the build up of armed forces caused tension
trench warefare
Trench warfare was a major part of World War 1 because it was the only form of defense able to be used in world war 1 because of all of the heavy artillery that was used such as machine gun and cannons. This put the war as a stalemate because the constant bombing of the trenches and no mans land meant that no one could cross no mans land and if they were to to try and cross they would get gunned down by a rain of machine gun fire and would die before getting 10 metres from the trenches
Inventions were important to the Industrial Revolution because it meant that they could have more advanced weaponary for war and more efficient mining machines such as the steam engine which meant that empires grew faster
