Industrial Revolutions
The Industrial Revolution Stretched from the 17th to 19th Century. It was the mark point in histories timeline when they invented new or improved machines allowing any one for every skill to use. I was when the economy shot up being strong with more and more jobs being created.
Child Labor
Many inventors at the time invented new or improved machines for people of any skill set to use, this included Children. Children used to work up to 14 hours a day on little to nothing pay. These factories where big but hundreds of children were squished inside of them with very few or no safety precautions. Many Children were hurt during this process causing them to not be looked after and becoming homeless.
Some of the child labor was mining coal for steamships and trains. Since the economy was booming they needed to export and import goods. If you wanted to export you needed transportation of the goods which were trains or steamships and they ran off loads of coal. If you hired children to mine, they could fit in small holes lowering the time to dig. Since the children were working with pickaxes and sharp tools there were loads of injuries and even deaths from carts falling over squashing the poor children. They were more energetic and could work faster than adults which made rich and wealthy people to hire children for coal mining.
The Spinning Jenny
James Hargreaves created the Spinning Jenny in 1765. It helped increase the productivity of yarn, making it 8 times more efficient. Making it cheaper and was very easy to use, so children could use it. This lead and increased Child Labor since you didn't need a qualification to use it.
Steamships
Invented by Robert Fulton in 1807 for transportation for goods and travel. It was efficient for moving goods but the only disadvantage was that it required a lot of coal to run the engine, so they had a portion of the ships coal, meaning less room for people or goods. Provided great travel and easy transportation of goods
