Cognitive theories argue that thoughts and other mental activity play an essential role in forming emotions
Evolutianary theory of emotion: It was created by Charles Darwin, it says thatmotions evolved because they were adaptive and allowed humans and animals to survive and reproduce. Acording to these emotion, emotions exist becuase they have an adaptive role. In this theory emotions are an important role in safety and danger
James lange theory of emotion: Says that emotions occur for a physiological response.This theory suggests that when you see an external stimulus that leads to a physiological reaction. STIMULUS=PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE=FEELING EMOTION
Cannon Bard Theory Of Emotion: The theory suggested that people can experience physiological reactions without actually fealing those emotions. The theory also said that you may feel fear because of the physical sympthoms
Schtater Single Theory: This theory suggests that the physiological l occurs first, and then the individual must identify the reason for this to experience and label it as an emotion. STIMULUS=PHY RESPONSE= LABELED EMOTION
Cognigtive appraisal theory: Thinking must occur first before experiencing emotion. STIMULUS= SIMULTENEOUS PHY RESPONSES=EMOTION
Facial feedback theory of emotion The facial-feedback theory of emotions suggests that facial expressions are connected to emotions. Supporters of this theory suggest that emotions are directly tied to changes in facial muscles
Types of emotions: Basic emotions: Fear, disgust, anger, surprise, happines and sadness.

Emotion vs moods: Emotions may be "suffered" by a certain amount of time. Moods are a softer emotion, they last less time than emotion.
