When students have high self-efficacy in a domain (personal component), they are more likely to work on challenging problems (behavior component)
Outcome expectancy
An individual’s belief in a positive relationship between performance and the outcome of such performance
When students have positive outcome expectancy (personal component), they will be motivated to attempt positive behavior to achieve the expected outcome (behavior component)
Mastery belief : The extent one’s perceived control over a success/failure outcome
