- - - - LEAGUE OF NATIONS: A league of nations who deeply wanted peace between multiple nations. The United States never joined it but president Woodrow Wilson did create it. Some members included Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan.
- - - - RATIONING: Setting a limit to buyable products, usually food. Its used during wars.
      - TRENCH WARFARE: Opposing troops would face each other in dug in trenches. It usually causes battles to be slower. Most people fighting in trenches never came out alive. During world war 1, there were two major ones, The Eastern and Western Trenches.These two trenches would cause many stalemates.
        
        MAIN BATTLES
        
        CENTRAL POWERS: Leaders included Ferdinand 1 of Bulgaria, Wilhelm the 2nd, and Franz Joseph 1 of Austria. Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria.
        
        ALLIED POWERS: Included leaders like, David Lloyd George, Wilhelm the 2nd, Nicholas the 2nd of Russia, Vladimir Lenin, and Woodrow Wilson. Britain, Russia, France, Italy, and the USA.
        
        US ENTERS WAR: The sinking of the Lusitania and the Zimmerman telegram caused the US to join the allied powers. The allied powers now had a great deal of aid.
        
        RUSSIA LEAVES WAR: So many of Russia's troops had died or been captured. This caused an armistice meaning that Russia agreed to stop fighting. So, they ended up leaving the war.
        
        SCHLIEFFEN PLAN: The plan was to attack France because Russia was preparing for war. This made the British declare war on Germany,
        
        BATTLE OF SOMME: In July 1,1916 to November 18, 1916. The allied powers ended up gaining land from this horrific war zone.
        
        BATTLE OF VERDUN: From February 21, 1916 to December 18,1916. The French won this excruciating battle. It was actually the longest battle fought through WW1.
      - PROPAGANDA: The spread of false of ideas to the people, promoting a misleading point of view.
- - - - FERDINAND'S ASSASSINATION: Archduke Ferdinand, along with his wife, were assassinated in 1914 by Gavrilo Princip. Austria Hungary believed Serbia killed him, so a declaration of war was ordered by them against Serbia. This was the start of WW1.
      - GAVRILO PRINCIP: was a 19 old man who was part of a terrorist organization named the Black Hand. He was the man who killed/assassinated the archduke of Austria Hungary. In a way, he started WW1
