students are given appropriate levels of challenges and one in which they are able to make decisions about their learning
When students are faced with difficulties, there should also be a support system in place to help them

Promoting lifelong learning is not confined to the provision of lifelong access to education and training. Lifelong learning involves a change in mindsets. We need to recognise that learning does not end with the pre-employment education we received in our schools and institutes of higher learning Learning can take place throughout life and is an integrated part of work and life. Such an attitude will drive us to equip ourselves with the skills that will help us learn to learn. It will motivate us to look for opportunities to upgrade ourselves. We need to have confidence in our abilities to learn new skills and knowledge and to discern when we will need them. We must believe that we are never too old to learn new things

It has been said that in the future we will not need schools because all the learning will take place online. Do you agree?

OUTDOOR EDUCATION
Definition
Outdoor Learning is a broad term that includes discovery, experimentation, learning about and connecting to the natural world, and engaging in environmental and adventure activities.
-
What do students learn?
-
To appreciate their life back home as they reside in uncomfortable tents and environment littered with pests
By immersing themselves in the environment far from the reach of their handheld devices, they come to learn and appreciate the beauty of the environment around them and how important it is to conserve it
Work-life balance
-
Some people think that students do not need a Long vacation from school and should have shorter breaks. What is your view?
Short vacations
Advantages
Taking one long trip may feel great when you do it, but the happiness boost is short-lived, so taking multiple shorter trips throughout the year allows for a handful of opportunities to get into that vacation mindset.
it seems that taking short vacations throughout the year may be more beneficial to your mental well-being than taking one long vacation.
Teachers find shorter holidays to be easier for lesson planning. Even a short break from the routine can renew and energize students for when they come back without losing momentum in the classroom
-
Disadvantages
If the holiday is short, then the child (and the parents) spends most of the vacation either transitioning out of the school routine or transitioning back into it.
There is also limited opportunity to explore other life experiences like travel, community service projects, and other investments.
The whole vacation gets taken up with festivities, homework, and family obligations.
-
Long vacation
Disadvantages
-
-
Most work places do not have the same vacation time so lower income families must struggle to find babysitting if there is an extended holiday.
Advantages
Families who live a long distance from relatives are able to travel, sometimes across the ocean, in order to connect with their loved ones.
Even if you don’t have family far away, an extended holiday is a great opportunity to travel. From an educational standpoint, a child that is able to experience another culture can gain valuable language, history, and social skills.
If communities and schools have enrichment programs during the holiday vacation, then students can participate in activities that would be difficult to do during a regular school term.

How far do you agree with the view that science is the most important subject for students to study?
Yes
-
Human progress throughout history has largely rested on advances in science. From our knowledge of gravity to cutting-edge medicines, students of Science have shaped our modern world.
All of these advances can trace their origin back to individuals learning about science as students. That’s why it is in the interests of governments, companies and wider society to promote Science as a subject at schools; it ensures the next wave of progress in all of the fields that affect our daily lives.
-
-
Teachers instil a hint of scientific thought and inspire a visceral sense of wonder and inquiry rather than just dole out facts.
Many city children have never seen the Milky Way in its full glory and thus never fully appreciated the vastness of space.
Important to know the practical things such as the safe use of appliances, properties of chemicals and how the human body works
-
No
Learning the basics of science is extremely important for students to function well in society but advanced levels of science may not be suitable for everyone
Some students even though have been introduced to the study of science, still cannot appreciate it as a subject will deem it useless as they aren’t willing to learn
Majority of the working adults in society have Long forgotten what they’ve learnt as they don’t put it into practice
