    - - 2) Acts that are mubah for the individual but obligatory (wajib) for the community as a whole. Under normal circumstances, eating, drinking and marriage may be mubah for individual, but to ensure their availability is a wajib for the community and its leadership. Similarly, it is mubah for the individual to choose his line of work and profession, but the community as a whole is under obligation to ensure the survival of certain types of industry and trade.
      - 3) Acts that are mubah on an occasional basis but forbidden if pursued regulary. For example, an occasional use of harsh words to one's child is mubah but forbidden if pratical all the times, and makruh if practiced frequently.
      - 1) Acts that are mubah for individuals( mandub) for the community as a whole. Eating certain varities of food , such as vegetarian food,beef,mutto etc, is mubah for the individuak, but it is mandub for community as a whole to have them made available in the marketplace. Note also the subtle difference between mubah and halal in these exampkes. Suppose we say that eating "beef, mtton etc, is halal for the individual.." it would be less than accurate, simply because halal with regard to animals required ritual purification(tazkiyah). Mubah may thus be said to be more general than halal.
