Non- Contact Forces
-
Gravity
-
-
-
-
Gravity is what keeps you on the ground, the higher the mass of the planet, the more gravitational pull there is.
-
Contact Forces
Push
An example of a push force is pushing a wheelbarrow because the forces are coming from behind.
A push force is a force in which pressure is put on an object causing it to move in a single direction
Pull
(e.g. tug of war, sling shot and pull a wagon.)

-
Twist
-
-
a twist force is a force that turns something around like a bolt, nail or milk lid.
Nomal
Normal force is a contact force because if two objects are not touching they cannon have normal forces.
-
Normal forces are forces which an object puts weight on another (e.g. a table is applying normal force to the ground.)
-
simple machines
incline plane
A flat surface that is angled, or inclined, so it can help move objects across distances.
-
Pulley
-
A pulley is a wheel on an axle or shaft which is used to change the direction or movement of an object.
Wedge
A wedge is an object that is made out of metal or wood, wedged in between 2 objects to separate them.
-
Screw
A screw is a shot, metal stick with a spiral thread and it causing it to stick 2 objects firmly together.
-
Lever
A lever is used to move an object from one place to another using less effort then you would. you have a fulcrum in the middle balancing the lever, you put force on one side and the other is raised.
-
Wheel and Axel
-
A Wheel and axel is a machine containing a wheel attached to a smaller axle so that these two parts rotate together in which a force is transferred from one to the other.
