Forces
Types of Forces
Non-Contact Forces
Gravity
Observations: Gravity's affect on planets and movement around the universe and planets can change/vary depending on the mass of the planet.
Example: The world's orbit around the sun. Explanation of picture: The sun is orbiting around the moon, because of that it changes the sides it faces towards the sun. Because of that we get seasons.
Fact/Characteristic/Attribute: The gravity force is being applied always, it just doesn't effect us because the normal force is also being applied.
-
Explanation: Gravity force is a force that is used through out the universe. It is what keeps all the planets in orbit and is what pulls everything to the center of the each planet.

Contact Forces
Pull
Explanation: A pull force is the opposite of a push force, instead it is when you (or the force) pulls something towards or closer to you.
Fact/Characteristic/Attribute: As well as the push force, you are able to speed up or slow down an object using the pull force.
Examples: Pulling a bowl of ice-cream towards you. Pulling a table closer to you. Trying to do a magic by pulling the table cloth from the table.
-
Observation: I observed that the pull force is the second of the two core forces, for the same reason it is used in so many situations. I also observed that forces are used very much in mechanics.
Twist
-
-
Examples: Twist a jar open and shut. Twist the volume nob up or down, in different directions.
-
Explanation: The twist force is the force you use when turning something into a particular direction. It can also be called the Torsion force.
Normal
Explanation: The normal force is the force that is applied when nothing is in motion, it is what stops or contests against gravity from pulling everything down.
Fact/Characteristic/Attribute: If the normal force wasn't present gravity would be pulling us to the center of the Earth.
Example: When you are standing on the floor, if the floor (also known as the normal force) wasn't there we would all be pulled to the center of the Earth because of the gravity force.
-
Observation: If I think about it whenever I am doing anything the normal force is still being applied to me.
Friction
An example is when you use sand paper to rub against a wall to make it more smooth, because you are rubbing two different particles against each other.
-
Observation: When you rub your hands together your hands get warmer. Observation:When we added more weight to the friction block we had to use more force to pull it, which was newtons.
Fact/Characteristic/Attribute: An action of Friction can create a rise in temperature, an example of the action is when you rub your hands together.
-
Push
Fact/Characteristic/Attribute: You can change the speed of an object by using the push force, to make it faster or slower.
Explanation: Push force is a force that pushes something in the direction that is away from you, or the object that is using the force.
-
Observations: The Push force can change the shape of an object and the motion of the object, it is also used quite a lot. I observed that the push force is really one of two core forces, because it is and can be used in many situations of everyday life. For example the sports bat question. Or more frequently used just to push a door open.
