Wave - Coggle Diagram
Wave
A wave is a disturbance
-
Energy and waves- earthquakes (as an example of energy transfers) send energy through disturbed ground shaking, but the ground doesn't move.
forces and waves- force is required to change the motion of an object, but they can also cause a disturbance, sending a wave.

-
Sound waves, light waves, and waves in water are common everyday waves
-
-
waves have amplitude, wavelength, and frequency
measuring wave properties - crest = highest point, trough = lowest point, amplitude = distance from rest position, wavelength = distance from one crest to another, frequency = number of waves in a certain amount of time
how frequency and wavelength are related - as frequency increases, wavelength decreases. the opposite is also true.
graphing waves - all wave graphs look like transverse waves, even when they are not. The distinction comes from labels and where measurement is taken place.
