Balanced forces
Types of forces
Contact
pull
What is pull?
Pull is a force when your pulling something towards you. you are pulling the door open making it go towards you in a specific direction.
observation
yes it can be for example magnetic force is a non contact force and can relate to push force as they push or force objects without touching them.
example:
An a example of a pull force is when you pull the door open. because when you pull it open you are pulling it towards you in a certain direction.
Fact:
The harder you pull/the more force you put in the faster it will move because you are using more force to pull that object.
twist
What is twist?
A twist force is called torsion. when you twist something open you are using a force to twist something turning it around.

normal
what is a normal force?
a normal force is force that pushes against gravity upwards. if we gravity and normal force each supply the same amount of force to ensure the object is stable and doesn't otherwise it would go one way.
-
example:
when you push against a wall the normal force is the force pushing back and its equal in magnitude to the amount of weight your pushing against the wall.
fact:
if there is no normal force then we will all be sinking into the ground but normal force stops that by pushing us up against us.
-
friction
What is friction?
Friction is a force that holds back the movement of a sliding object. Friction can be found anywhere that you find objects that come into contact with each other.
-
Fact:
If there was no friction than every moving object would be sliding around and would take a long time to come to a stop.
-
Push
What is push?
Push is a forces that moves an object away from another. When you push something you are using force to send it into a different direction.
Fact:
A push force is an unbalanced force because it is acting upon another force making it go in the other direction
observation:
the factors that change how far the ball goes are which angle the all leaves the bat for example if you hit the ball at the very edge of the bat it will travel upwards causing the ball to go not that far. it also can depend on how much force you use to hit the ball with. if you use little force then the ball will only travell a small distance but if you put a lot of force to hit the ball it will go very far.

non-contact forces

gravity
what is gravity?
Gravity is a force of attraction that pulls together all matter (anything you can physically touch). The more matter something has, the greater the force of its gravity. That means really big objects like planets and stars have a stronger gravitational pull.
-
fact:
The reason things stay on the Earth's surface is because of the gravitational pull toward the Earth's center. Gravity is also the reason the Earth spins around the sun
example:
an example of gravity could be when you throw a ball it eventually comes down because of the gravitational pull
-
What is balanced forces?
A balanced force is an object that inst affected by any movement. When you have an object that isn't moving of increasing or decreasing speed you have a balanced force.
-
-
fact:
If the forces are balanced, which means they are equal in size but are acting in opposite directions, the object doesn't move but it might change shape
