Forces
Types of forces
Non contact
Push
-
Pushing an object can move it, change its shape or break it
-
-
Pushing is used very often in every day life, and there are multiple non-contact pushes. The push of air when something is falling, the push of two magnets and the push of air coming from someones mouth.
Pull
-
e.g. peeling off a sticker, opening a door
-
-
Observations: I believe you can turn a pull force to a push force as many machines exist to prove my theory correct. A pull force doesn't always have to be contact, it can be non-contact too. A mechanical system that uses pull force are saws.
Friction
-
Walking, holding and objects staying still are all examples of friction, without friction we would all fall over every time we move.
-
-
Observation: walking requires friction, as does standing
Twist
Twisting is to bend an object in opposite directions to make it twirled, distorted or bent
-
e.g. opening a bottle, twisting your head around
-
Observations: I believe that a push force can be converted if you change the direction and motion. pencil sharpeners are great examples of a twist force.
Normal
-
The normal force is when an object is on a surface, it is going down due to gravity, but going back up cause of the surface. this crates a neutral effect, which is the normal force.
-
-
Normal force is used every time you stand up, sit down, place an object somewhere. It is not possible for something to be on something else without normal force
Observation: everything standing/sitting is normal force and without normal force, life would be more different than without humans.
Contact
-
Magnetic
Magnetic forces are attraction or repulsion that arises between two electrically charged particles due to their motion.
Gravity
The gravitational force which pulls objects with lesser weight into objects with larger weight, making us stay on the Earth.
Gravity is the pull of the ground, the force which makes everything stand up without floating
e.g standing up, sitting, touching
I noticed everything requires gravity, or else we would be floating
