Contact Forces
Twist
-
-
-
When opening a drink bottle of some sort you have to twist the lid in a circle direction. Opening a jar of some sort needs a twist motion. When opening a median bottle you would usually have to push down on the lid then twist to get it open.
A push force can be converted into a twist force, because when opening a median bottle you first have to push down the lid and while pushing down the lid you have to twist the lid to unscrew it. A screw driver is a simple machine that uses a twisting force and motion.
Push
-
-
-
-
The factors that would influence how far the ball would go would be how hard/ how much force u put into hitting the ball with the bat. The harder you hit the further the ball would get and the softer you hit the smaller distance the ball will go.
Mechanical systems that use a push force would be any machine that has spur gears, belts and wheels and chain and sprockets
No a push can't be a non-contact force because a push is a movement that an object has to press against something for it to be able to move.
Friction
-
-
When two objects create friction and are moving in a similar way the kinetic energy that was created by friction turns into thermal energy meaning the objects begin to heat up.
-
When your hands are cold and you rub them together to heat them up that is thermal energy that came from friction. When your sliding down a slide at the park and the back of your legs get slightly heated up that is friction.
Friction can also be created by pulling and object along a flat surface. The amount of forced used to pull the object and how fast its being pulled can determined the level of friction created.
Pull
-
-
-
You can turn a push force into a pull force by moving the object the opposite way. The only time a pull force can be non-contact with when gravity is involved for example when gravity pulls/attracts something closer to the earths surface. Any mechanical system that uses some sort of pulley system would have a push force involved.
-
Normal
-
The normal force acts a little bit like the supporting force that helps balance out the weight of an object. For example a laptop that is resting on top of a table, the table would have an upward force that would balance the weight of the laptop. This upward force can also be known as the normal force. The normal force is also the force that acts against gravity.
Sometimes the normal force can horizontally be between objects that are in contact with each other. For example if something is leaning against a stationary object the stationary object pushes against the other object horizontally. Friction can create electrostatic energy by charging two objects when rubbing them together.
Unbalanced forces
An unbalanced is when two forces in opposite direction are not equal and are different in size therefore one is stronger than the other.
-
Unbalanced forces can and will change the direction, motion, speed and position or an object and some times the shape. Because one force is bigger than the other depending in which way the object is moving will determined whether the object slows down or speeds up.
Balanced forces
-
A balanced force means that two or more forces are acting upon an object in opposite direction but are both equal and the same size.
Usually when forces are balanced the object that is being acted upon is either stationary or continues moving at a steady and constant speed. Balanced forces can't change the motion or direction of an object therefore when forces are balanced there is no change in direction.
Non-Contact Forces
Gravity
-
Depending on how far apart two objects are is how strong they will attract and move closer to each other.
Depending on the mass of an object impacts how much it will move towards another object. For example the bigger object with more mass will not move very far and the smaller object with smaller mass will move more.

Magnetic
-
-
Electrostatic energy acts a little bit like a magnetic force when two objects are charged and they are only attracted to each other when there is one negative and one positive charge, that is similar because only the north pole and the south pole of the magnet attract. When there is two of the same charge the objects repel just like two of the same poles on a magnet repel.
Magnetic force is used in a compass, because the earth is like a magnet and attracts to other magnets, so the north pole in a compass is drawn to the north pole of the earths magnet. All new roller coasters use a magnetic force. The brakes of a roller coaster is the opposite side of the magnets that would be on the carriage causing to slow down because it attracts.
Electrostatic
An electrostatic force is a force where two objects are electorally charged and are either repel or attract. That also includes negative and positive charges. When the charge includes one positive and one negative it will attract but two of the same will repel.
They way an object becomes electorally charged is when electrons are transferred or removed from an object. It can also be created with friction.
-When you rub a balloon on your head and your hair and the balloon become attracted.
-When you get a small electric shock when running on the treadmill.
-If a balloon is electorally charged it can repel water causing it to move.
